Beltane Calling

Long Ago there existed an ancient festival celebrated on May 1st called "Beltane" when couples would enter into a ceremony of love through a process referred to as hand fasting where their union would be given a year and a day to decide if the couple were appropriate for one another and to decide if their relationship was healthy and strong.
With spring blooming around us, love is in the air.  We can finally get outside from the colder season to take walks and connect with nature budding all around us.  We gained a strength over the winter season and now are experiencing the creative fires needed for new beginnings.
Beltane fires and Maypole dances were other ways the ancients used to ring in springtime, signifying the fiery passion of the heart and celebrating the union of the Divine Feminine and Masculine.
Beltane is a cross quarter time between Winter and Summer and serves as a portal to traverse between realms when the veil between worlds is thin.
Love is an interesting topic in that it can involve another person or it can be your marriage to a project or your sacred work at this time.
This Beltane, review your vows that you've made not only to the mate you've chosen, but also to a part of yourself that is calling you to dedicate more time to.  If you are not in a relationship at this time and want to be, decide on the character traits this person will have and when you'd like to meet them.  Write this down on a piece of paper and place it in a special place until it comes true.
If you are not sure what is calling you at this time, simply ask yourself if you had the time, what would you be doing?  Is it taking a trip? Is it starting to paint or craft something? Is it spending more quality time with your mate? Is it to devote more time to your spiritual life?  Whatever it is make the decision to commit at least 15 - 20 minutes a day to show up for this.
Spirit speaks to us through feelings and urges.  When we ignore them we can become hardened over and lose our sense of sensitivity. Give yourself to what is calling you and you will be given so much in return.
This spring fall in love with your life and all of the tiny blessings that each day hold, for they are the seeds of your abundance and joy that will harvest this summer and fall.  Allow the spark of inspiration to light your inner fire this Beltane!
